How Much Does Pizza Catering Cost in Los Angeles?
Olive Wood Pizza's published packages currently start at $1,250 for 25 guests and can climb well beyond $20,000 for large or highly produced events. That range is wide because "pizza catering" may describe anything from boxed delivery to a complete mobile kitchen with commercial ovens, chefs, service staff and food prepared continuously on-site.
The useful question is not simply, "What does pizza cost?" It is, "What experience and operating capacity are included in that price?"
Olive Wood Pizza publishes its package pricing because hosts should be able to establish a realistic budget before submitting a lead.

Additional guests are $70 each.
Prices and menu details should always be checked against the current Menus page before publication or quoting, since seasonal selections and enhancements can change.
What the standard price includes
Olive Wood's standard package price includes more than ingredients. It includes the mobile oven, chef and service team, operating equipment, prep tables, setup, breakdown, continuous production during the contracted service window, compostable plates, napkins and utensils, and the display and serviceware used for the buffet.
Standard pizza service does not require the venue to provide kitchen access, electricity or water. The host or venue provides the buffet tables or another suitable serving surface.
There is no separate service charge, administrative charge or standard staffing fee. Local sales tax is additional. Gratuity is optional.
Olive Wood's packages start with a deliberate balance of classics and signatures. Cheese, pepperoni and Margherita give every crowd familiar choices. Signature selections add combinations such as All the Meats, OBG, Garlic Mushroom, Pesto Chicken, BBQ Chicken and seasonal pizzas.
Each approximately 10-inch pizza is normally cut into six slices. Olive Wood plans more than one pizza per contracted guest so people can sample several types and return to the buffet. The production allowance does not shrink simply because salads, pastas or sides are included.
For larger or more formal events, the pizza can be one part of a broader Italian menu. The current offerings include Caesar, Arugula and Italian Chopped salads; Penne Marinara, Vodka Sauce, Bolognese and other pastas; fire-roasted meatballs and vegetables; appetizer and dessert platters; grazing tables; and optional passed hors d'oeuvres.
What can increase the total?
The most common factor is guest count. More people require more ingredients, labor, transportation capacity and sometimes additional ovens or crews.
The menu also matters. Salads and pastas can turn pizza service into a complete meal. Fire-roasted sides, grazing tables, premium pizzas, charcuterie, appetizers and desserts add variety and a more formal presentation.
Family-style pizza service is available for events of 50 or more guests as a $6-per-guest enhancement and requires additional staff. Tray-passed appetizers and other elevated service formats also require enhanced staffing and are priced accordingly.
Event date and logistics can affect minimums. Prime Saturdays, holidays and high-demand dates may carry higher minimums because the fleet and experienced crews are finite. Complicated load-ins, restricted access, extended service windows and multiple meal waves may require a custom plan.
How travel is calculated
Travel is included for the first 35 driving miles from Olive Wood Pizza's kitchen. If an event is 45 driving miles away, the travel charge applies only to the 10 miles beyond the included radius: $100 based on the current $10-per-additional-one-way-mile policy.
Travel charges appear on the proposal. They are intended to cover the additional crew time, fuel and equipment wear associated with longer distances.
What about parking, permits and rentals?
The event must provide appropriate parking for the service vehicles and oven. Olive Wood carries the licenses, insurance and operating permits required for its normal catering work. If a particular venue or jurisdiction requires a special event-specific permit, Olive Wood can help coordinate it and pass through the actual permit charge.
The standard operation includes the equipment and serviceware needed for the package, except for the buffet table or comparable serving surface. If a host wants rented china, linens, additional rentals or a service format Olive Wood does not provide directly, the team can refer trusted partners.
Why two pizza-catering quotes may look nothing alike
One proposal may use a small consumer oven and a two-person crew. Another may include a commercial trailer oven, high-volume production staff, a polished buffet and the operating depth to feed hundreds of guests inside a short window. One may quote food and add delivery, staffing and service fees later. Another may publish an inclusive starting price.
When comparing proposals, normalize the numbers. Ask each caterer to identify:
1. Guest count and service duration
2. Number and approximate size of pizzas planned
3. Oven type and production capacity
4. Number of staff included
5. Setup and breakdown
6. Plates, napkins, utensils and buffet serviceware
7. Travel or delivery charges
8. Service, administrative or staffing charges
9. Sales tax and gratuity policy
11. Insurance, permits and certificates of insurance
A realistic budget is better than a misleading starting number
For a 50-person gathering, Olive Wood's published starting packages currently range from $1,850 for pizza service to $2,750 for pizza, salad, pasta and a fire-roasted side. At 100 guests, the published packages range from $3,100 for Pizza Party pricing to $8,500 for the full Best of Olive Wood experience.
Those are different events, not simply different quantities of pizza. The right choice depends on whether pizza is the sole meal, how formal the occasion is, how long guests will eat and what service experience the host wants to create.
